Location and Parking: Chautaqua Park and at the north side or at the South Bolder Creek/ Eldorado Canyon trailhead at the south side.

The trail is about 7 miles from Chautauqua Park to Eldorado canyon. Mesa trail is a moderate hike if you do the whole trail from Chautauqua Park to Eldorado canyon it is a long a day hike. The trail has a few ups and downs as it goes in and out of the creek beds along the base of the flatirons. The Masa trail goes up and down through creek beds and over small hills a total of 1,400 vertical feet in the over all 6 mile length of the Mesa Trail.
Connects to most of the canyons and trailheads along the base of the flatirons and offers a lot of other hikes and connections.
Along the trail are excellent views of the valley and great side views of the different flatiron formations.
The Mesa trail is a really nice winter hike when the sun is out and a little snow is on the ground it is a great place to soak up some warm UV rays in the winter.
Parking a Chautauqua can be difficult in the summer so get there early or you might have to parking in the surrounding neighborhoods.
There is a bus line that runs from downtown that comes and goes every 30 minutes.
